In this tutorial you will learn how to build a simple clock with one hand. A following tutorial will teach how to script it in order to make it work as a stopwatch.

Step 1. Rez a cylinder.
Step 2. Hold the Shift key and drag the cylinder upwards to create two copies of it.
Step 3. Change the dimensions of the first cylinder to <1,1,0.1> and change its texture to Blank.
Step 4. Change the dimensions of the middle cylinder to <0.1,0.1,0.1>.
Step 5. Change the texture of the middle cylinder to Blank, paint it black and lower it down until it is partially inside the big white disk.
Step 6. Change the topmost cylinder to a box. This can be done by selecting “box” in the Object tab of the Edit dialog box.
Step 7. Change the dimensions of the box to <0.03,0.8,0.01>.
Step 8. Lower the box down as shown in the picture. This box will be the clock’s hand.
Step 9. Change the texture of the clock’s hand to blank and paint it red.
Step 10. Right-click in the red rectangle below and download the image in it to your hard disk.
We will use this image as a texture for the clock’s hand. Now upload the image to your inventory in the virtual world and and apply it to the clock’s hand as shown in the picture below.
Step 11. Right-click in the red rectangle below and download the image in it to your hard disk.
We will use this image as a texture for top face of the big white cylinder prim. Now upload the image to your inventory in the virtual world and and apply it to the top face of the white cylinder.
Step 12. Link the three prims with the clock face (i.e. the large cylinder) as the root of the linkset.
